Despite its traditional Tirolean-style buildings and tree-filled valley, Sölden is no beauty: it is a large, traffic-filled place that sprawls along both side of a river and main road (particularly crowded at weekends). The resort attracts a young, lively crowd - mostly Dutch and German - bent on partying.
The total length of ski routes in Vuokatti is 150 kilometers of which 32 kilometers are illuminated. On the grounds of the ski resort, a skiing school is open for business, along with a biathlon stadium, an equipment rental shop, a store for sports gear, and also a system for evaluating one"s physical condition, in the Snowpolis center. Gulmarg, situated in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, 46 kms from Srinagar Airport . Gulmarg is a mountain shelf which nestles under the protective 4250 metre height and 5 km spread of Mount Apharwat. From here it has a view over the valley of Kashmir to 8126 metre Nanga Parbat and other distant peaks. 6 Ski Lifts, 1520m Max Vertical, 4250m Highest Lift, 2730m Resort Altitude. The 3.5 km long and up to a km wide valley of Gulmarg which is about 3-sq-kms in area stands at an altitude of 2,650 metres. Known as Kashmirs premier upland hill resort, the gentle undulating meadows of Gulmarg are carpeted in a thick layer of snow. The resort has one T-bar lift, three very modern ski-lifts and a chair-lift. The best and longest skiing in Gulmarg is accessed by the Gandola Cable Car Lift, which allows a ski run of 2,213 m. Designed by Poma of France, gondola ascends extends almost to the peak of Apharwat, at an elevation of 3980 metres above sea level, providing lift served access to 1330 vertical metres of vast snow riding terrain. Due to the setting-up of Gandola Cable Car Lift from Gulmarg to Apharwat top, Gulmarg holds a position as one of the highest lift-served ski resorts in the world.

Drahobrat is located 18 km away from Yasenya, 120 km from Ivano-Frankivsk. Drahobrat (commonly spelled "Dragobrat") is Ukraines highest ski resort, with a base elevation at 1300 m. Drahobrat is the first ski resort to open its lifts and the last to turn them off — usually around May 1st. At Drahobrat you can enjoy up to 350 m of elevation drop. Five or six tow lifts from 350 to 1000 m in length reach up the mountainside as far as the summit of Stig mountain at 1703 m. The skiing is as wild as it gets in Ukraine.
